After much hoopla and anxiety, a source close to the NHRA's Technical Department and the fuel Funny Car division has told us the sanctioning body will not make any more changes to the header angles for the floppers. A letter was sent to the Funny Car teams with a December deadline, asking for their opinion on whether the laid back headers needed to be outlawed, and return to pre-2013 angles. We are told the Funny Car teams were 95-percent in favor of leaving the current specs intact.

This is only in the rumors section because we couldn't find anyone willing to go on the record. So, for the time being, it appears to us the Funny Car excitement level remains intact.
