RUMOR MILL - NITRO TEAMS PONDERING IMPLEMENTING THEIR OWN COST-CUTTING MEASURES FOR 2020?

Competition Plus has learned from a reliable source that several full-time NHRA teams are pondering skipping at least one or two national events in the upcoming season in order to cut expenses. One team which fields multiple cars feels it can save over $500K if all cars skip one or two events over the course of the season. This rumor is circulating in advance of the expected NHRA revision of the Countdown to the Championship eligibility expected to be released on January 15, 2020.
