After one session, Julie Nataas (Top Alcohol Dragster), and Steve Gasparrelli (Top Alcohol Funny Car) lead NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing qualifying at the AAA NHRA Finals in Pomona, Ca.

In a day marred by a crash of TAD driver Fred Hannsen during the Q-1 session, Nataas jumped to the front with a 5.221, 274.83 ahead of Casey Grisel, who was just .006 behind with a 5.227. 274.83.

After sweating out the final results of the last Top Dragster race of the year in Las Vegas, Mike Coughlin officially bagged the Division 3 championship in his category on the strength of a stellar summer season that included two crucial victories and a string of impressive finishes. 
  
Combined with his two Top Sportsman D3 titles from 2007 and 2009, Coughlin is now a three-time titlist, adding yet another glorious chapter to his family's racing legacy.

The NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, where the future stars of the sport earn their racing stripes, returns to action for the 2020 race season to compete at premier racing facilities across the country.

The action-packed series kicks off at Orlando Speed World Dragway, in Orlando, Fla. on Jan. 31 – Feb. 2. 

Following a week of unforeseen circumstances from rain delays to freak accidents such as glass shattering on track, the SFG World Series of Bracket successfully came to a close, completing it’s second Fuel Tech $50,000-to-win race on Sunday evening. After another huge nine-round run, Randy Scheuer Jr. found himself in the winner’s circle, defeating Eric Thomas in the final.

Sunday's final Sportsman results from the 19th annual Dodge NHRA Nationals presented by Pennzoil at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The race is the 23rd of 24 in the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series:

After nine rounds of hard-fought racing at Darlington Dragway, a winner was crowned in the SFG World Series of Bracket Racing’ main event. Mikey Bloomfield won the $200,000 payday after Chris Dixon red-lit by .007 seconds in the final-round around 9:00 pm tonight.
