Last evening at O’Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis, Johnson drove the same A/Fuel Dragster that Bill Evans drove to the semi-finals during the NHRA SuperNationals in Englishtown, N.J.

Johnson, in his one shakedown run, registered a .068 reaction time en route to a 5.60 elapsed time.

“I just wanted to knock the rust off,” Johnson said of the experience.

Nothing is definite, but CompetitionPlus.com has learned there’s a likely chance that Johnson could drive the car in an NHRA LODRS event later this month.

Should Johnson drive and win, he would become only the second driver since Gary Scelzi to win in Top Fuel, Funny Car, Top Alcohol Funny Car and Top Alcohol Dragster.
