OUTLAW PRO MODS AT HOLLY SPRINGS THIS WEEKEND

George Howard Racing and Holly Springs Motorsports Park in Holly Springs, Mississippi will host the world’s fastest door cars, those three-second/200-mph Outlaw Pro Modifieds, this Saturday, July 18 at the popular eighth-mile track.

George Howard Racing and Holly Springs Motorsports Park in Holly Springs, Mississippi will host the world’s fastest door cars, those three-second/200-mph Outlaw Pro Modifieds, this Saturday, July 18 at the popular eighth-mile track.

Already entered for the big show are the “Widow Maker,” a ’63 split-window Corvette powered by a blown and injected hemi engine and owned by Mississippian Roger Hinson and driven by Bubba Stanton; Dwayne Watkins’ Memphis-based supercharged ’57 Chevy; Rome, Georgia’s Bil (c.q.) and Ralph Clanton’s famed “Big Money” ’53 Studebaker with a blown and injected Bob Newberry-built hemi; and Tony Russell of Ardmore, Alabama and his “Low Mad” ’55 Chevy Nomad. Many more Outlaws are also entered.

Also featured this Saturday will be the regular TCI bracket series for bracket racers. And for the rest of July, Holly Springs will have free admission to the track for any and everybody through the end of the month. Gates open at 4 p.m. this Saturday, qualifying for the Outlaw Pro Mods begins at 6 p.m.and first round starts at 8:30 p.m. Call the track at 662-252-5600 for more information.
