SCRUGGS TO HAVE A NEW CAR IN 2010 IN ADDITION TO OTHER ITEMS

Jason Scruggs was a terror when he raced a 1963 Corvette. And in the spirit of horror flicks, the two-time ADRL Pro Extreme champion from Saltillo, Miss, will soon unveil a new sequel aimed at being even more horrific for the competition.

Once chassis builder Garret Livingston completes Jason Hamstra’s new ride, the Scruggs machine will return to the front-burner.

“Mine will be the next one out the door,” Scruggs told ADRL.us, the official website for the doorslammer series. “We’re shooting to have it out there by Valdosta (Apr. 23-24).”

Scruggs will run his 1968 Camaro until the new car is complete. The Camaro is currently undergoing some updates for 2010.

“We plan on doing some heavy testing in February, either at South Georgia Motorsports Park or south Florida, depending on the weather,” Scruggs said.

Scruggs plans to break new ground in 2010 by using a Lencodrive transmission. He’ll also have a new teammate in Top Alcohol Funny Car standout Mick Snyder.

“I haven’t had a torque converter in about 15 years,” Scruggs added in the ADRL interview.

As for the new teammate with Snyder, “I’ve always been kind of a loner and never really thought about having a teammate before. But me and my dad agree two heads are better than one and Larry makes good power and they have a lot of experience, so I think it can be a real asset for us.”
