The officer interrogated Woodruff as to why he was in such a hurry. Every question the officer asked resulted in a ‘no’ answer including, “Do you realize how fast you were going?”

Then the officer asked if he’d been ticketed in the last couple of years, also a “no” response.

Then the officer asked about Woodruff’s personalized plate which read 1320 PR.

“I told him there were 1320 feet in a quarter mile and he smiled,” Woodruff recalled. “Then he said he was drag racing fan. I asked him who he liked ... and he said Jeg Jr. was his favorite.”

A surprised Woodruff explained his role on the team.

“I received a written warning and was told to tell Jeg good luck in the Countdown to 1,” Woodruff confirmed.
