KNOLL DONATES TO YOUNG LIFE

During the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals, Evan Knoll, owner and operator of Knoll Gas - Torco Race Fuels and is one of the largest sponsors in drag racing, presented to Mike Edwards and Young Life a check in the amount of $10,000 to sends kids to camp.

"I made this contribution not for recognition for myself but rather to draw attention to the great things Young Life provides for the at risk children of this world," Knoll said. "God has blessed me with the successful businesses I have so that we can help spread the word of the Lord and help great programs like Young Life. Money will come and go, but an impact you can make on the life of a child will last forever. The Bible says if we train up a child in the right way when they are older they will not depart from it.

"I would encourage other team owners and people in the industry to make a contribution to the great cause," Knoll added.

Knoll joins a large group of the racing public who have made a contribution to the "A Team on a Mission" program, which includes NHRA Pro Stock drivers Jim Yates, Ron Krisher, and V. Gaines, as well as Top Fuel driver Bob Vandergriff Jr. and Pro car owner Kenny Koretsky. Given corporate support to the project are Jeg's Mail Order, Applied Racing Technologies (A.R.T.), Marengo Forest Products, Speedco, ProJacks, Tulsa Raceway Park, Burns Stainless, and Torco's CompetitionPlus.com.

By joining "A Team on a Mission," an individual can make a single donation or for every round of competition that each individual driver wins during the 2006 NHRA POWERade schedule, they will either donate in the amount needed to send a kid to a Young Life camp, a set amount per event, or match what Edwards accomplishes on the track. To date the program has sent nearly 300 kids to a Young Life camp in two years of existence.

"What Evan Knoll did for this project is truly the spirit we are hoping everyone catches," said Edwards. "Getting the racing community involved is just a small way that we can give back just a little and that simple sacrifice could have such a huge impact in changing the life of a kid. This is for the kids and everything we can do will only better theirs and our future."
