Fans of the NHRA and the wildly popular social media site Twitter will be able to mix, mingle, and "Tweet" during the 13th annual O'Reilly NHRA Midwest Nationals, May 1-3, at Gateway International Raceway.

A number of NHRA Full Throttle Series teams/drivers are already active on Twitter – including Kenny Bernstein Racing, John Force Racing, Kalitta Motorsports, Mike Ashley Racing, Don Schumacher Racing, Tasca Racing, Pro Stock driver Kurt Johnson and Pro Stock Motorcycle rider Steve Johnson – posting "Tweets" with round-by-round results, driver appearances, autograph opportunities, and general fan updates.

At this weekend’s seventh race in the 24-race NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series season, the stakes will be raised for their “followers” on Twitter as select teams will be jointly coordinating a Twitter Fest with prizes awarded not just to “followers” on-site, but also to those who are playing along at home. [The select teams participating will be released on the NHRA Twitter account (http://twitter.com/NHRA) between 11 a.m. and Noon CDT on Friday.]

Complete contest details will be provided by the participating teams/drivers via their Twitter accounts beginning at approximately Noon CDT on Friday. Remember, not all teams will be participating in the contest so be sure you’re following at least one of the teams that is participating.

Please Note: In order to be considered for this program all Tweets will need to be tagged with #nhragir.
