BAKERSFIELD MARCH MEET IN MAY TO FEATURE NIGHT RACING

The Daily Race Schedule for the 2021 Good Vibrations March Meet, presented by Lucas Oil, was recently released and Nitro Fans are going to be pleased. For the first time in the event’s history, Nighttime Nitro Sessions are scheduled for both Friday and Saturday night.

“We are making the most of a difficult situation,” said Blake Bowser, Vice President of Famoso Dragstrip. “Not having the March Meet in March was frustrating, but we are going to make up for it in May with a massive drag race May 26-30.”

Over 500 race teams will be in attendance, featuring Nitro Burning Funny Cars, Top Fuel Dragsters, and Fuel Altereds. Also featured are Pro Mods, CIFCA, and Double B Funny Cars as well as NHRA Heritage Series Groups 1 and 2 classes.

The five-day drag race begins on Wednesday with a Test and Tune for the NHRA Heritage Series Groups 1 and 2 classes. On Thursday, those same classes will make qualifying runs and the day will conclude with a late afternoon into early evening test session for all nitro cars in attendance.

“Nitro fans will get their nitro fix on Friday and Saturday night,” Bowser said. “Nitro cars will be thundering down the quarter-mile under the lights. We’ve run nitro cars at night during the March Meet, but only when we are behind schedule. Never, have we scheduled nitro sessions to take place at night. This should make for an exciting event.”

The weekend will conclude on Sunday with all the Champions crowned.
