BOSTICK TO TEAM UP WITH KULUNGIAN, WHITE ALLIGATOR RACING IN 2024

 

Chris Bostick is set to join forces with Crew Chief Tim Kulungian and the White Alligator Racing (WAR) Team for the upcoming 2024 season of the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series. The announcement was made at the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) show in Indianapolis.

During the PRI Show, Kulungian took to the NHRA stage alongside Chase Van Sant, the talented WAR rider who was named the 2023 NHRA Rookie Of The Year. The announcement of Bostick's addition to the team was part of a more comprehensive presentation highlighting various improvements to their successful racing program.

NHRA ARIZONA NATIONALS RETURN TO RENAMED FIREBIRD MOTORSPORTS PARK IN PHOENIX FOR 2024 NHRA SEASON

 

NHRA Officials and the Gila River Indian Community have announced that the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series will return to Phoenix for the 2024 season. The event will take place at the newly-renamed Firebird Motorsports Park, formerly known as Firebird International Raceway, from April 5-7. This will mark the 39th annual NHRA Arizona Nationals, continuing the rich history of NHRA drag racing at the venue.

FINNISH FIA TF CHAMPION IDA ZETTERSTROM HEADED TO USA TO DRIVE DRAGSTER FOR MAYNARD

 

Ida Zetterström, the recently crowned FIA Top Fuel champion, has announced her plans to make her NHRA Top Fuel debut with JCM Racing in the 2024 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season. Zetterström, a Finnish driver, is relocating to the United States to pursue her dream of competing for an NHRA world championship. She intends to run a limited schedule in 2024, with the goal of a full-time campaign in 2025.

“This is truly a dream come true,” said Zetterström, the FIA Top Fuel record holder for elapsed time and speed. “I’ve been working towards this goal for years now, and to have Joe Maynard and the JCM Racing organization recognize my efforts and potential means so much. I’m so thankful for everyone who has helped me reach this point, including all the NHRA drivers who have offered tips and guidance.

RED LINE OIL SIGNS ON THE DOTTED LINE AS PDRA TITLE SPONSOR

 

Red Line Synthetic Oil, a prominent manufacturer of engine oils and lubricants, has been announced as the series title sponsor for the Professional Drag Racers Association (PDRA) for the upcoming 2024 season. The announcement was made during a press conference at the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Show. This partnership, encompassing multiple years, marks the first time in the 10-year history of the all-eighth-mile drag racing series that the series will have a title sponsor.

BUDDY HULL NAMED DRIVER FOR THE JIM DUNN RACING FUNNY CAR IN 2024

 

Top Fuel driver Buddy Hull is returning to his front engine roots as Jim Dunn Racing announced at the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) show that he will be the new driver for their Funny Car team. 

Hull replaces Alex Laughlin behind the wheel of the Jim Dunn-tuned Funny Car that finished tenth in the 2023 championship point standings. 
The Jim Dunn Racing team had an impressive run in the NHRA Countdown, securing a semifinal finish and three quarterfinal finishes. Hull will pilot the car for the full 21-race Mission Foods Drag Racing Series.

WHARTON AUTOMOTIVE GROUP LAUNCHES FTI PERFORMANCE PARTS

 

Funny Car racer Paul Lee clearly sees the value in drag racing’s business side. 

Lee, President of the Wharton Automotive Group, is taking the FTI brand to another level by announcing a performance torque converter and automatic transmission parts warehouse. Located in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA, FTI Performance Parts will provide high-performance torque converter components as well as high-performance automatic transmission components. 

TONY STEWART HEADED TO NHRA TOP FUEL, LEAH PRUETT TO TAKE A BREAK FROM DRIVING

 

Leah Pruett has announced her decision to step away from racing in 2024 in order to prioritize starting a family with her husband, Tony Stewart. 

Stewart, who had a successful season racing as a Top Alcohol Dragster for McPhillips Racing, will take over Pruett’s seat in the Top Fuel category at Tony Stewart Racing (TSR).

Pruett, a 12-time NHRA Top Fuel event winner, expressed her gratitude for the impact racing has had on her life and acknowledged the difficulty of her decision. She finished the 2023 season in third place in the Top Fuel championship standings, marking her highest ranking in her 14-year Top Fuel career.
