As if Las Vegas weren’t loud and ostentatious enough in its own right, the city hosts the fire and fury of the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series twice each year, this event in the spring and the crucial penultimate stop on the schedule in the fall.

Houston Raceway Park benefits from incredible atmospheric conditions because of its proximity to Trinity Bay, which feeds the facility cool air. The track’s first NHRA national event, in fall 1988, established HRP as one of the sport’s quickest with NHRA’s first four-second Top Fuel pass.

For the last six years, the date of the JEGS NHRA Cajun SPORTSnationals
has been circled on the calendars of sportsman drag racers across
the country. One of three sportsman events backed by JEGS Mail Order,
the Cajun SPORTSnationals annually attracts a field of more than 500
competitors to No Problem Raceway Park in Belle Rose, La.

The traditional East Coast opener and the season’s first of 17 events
for Pro Stock Motorcycle riders, this event is one of the sport’s most
revered with a rich tradition of history-making performances. This
hallowed quarter-mile has entertained spring-break-loving fans for
decades with notable accolades as top speeds.

For the first time since the IHRA was founded in 1971, the sanctioning body will begin its season at Sate Capitol Dragway in Baton Rouge, La. This won't be the first time the IHRA has been to the famed facility but it promises to be the quickest and fastest ever.
