One of the leading drag administrators in Australia, Peter Beaumont, has been appointed CEO of Willowbank Raceway.

Beaumont previously served as General Manager of Sydney Dragway until February 2021.

“This is an enormous and exciting opportunity,” said Beaumont. “Willowbank Raceway is the true home of Drag Racing in Australia. I’m looking forward to working with the team and the Board in developing and implementing plans to grow the venue, attract new events, expand our sponsorship base and alternative business hires.”  

Willowbank Raceway, Queensland, is home to the Winternationals, the largest event on the Australian calendar.

“Peter worked with us as a contractor in the lead up to the Winternationals," said Willowbank President Tony Wedlock. "During that time, he worked with our staff, volunteers and racers as well as the Raceway Board and based on the feedback we received, it became an easy decision for us that we should look to make Peter a more permanent fixture at the venue. We know Peter is bringing a wealth of all-around experience to our venue and we look forward to working with Peter."
