HERNANDEZ QUICKEST AMONGST JEGS PRO MODS

The Houston-area resident delivered consistent sub-six second runs, blasting to a 5.964/242.02 in the heat of the day and backing it up with a 5.973/241.54 in the evening session.
 
"What can I say about this Oddy and Critchley horsepower," Hernandez exclaimed. "Dave and Jim Oddy along with Troy Critchley have built such an amazing machine, it runs fast in the heat and when it's cool - these guys are geniuses! "We're all working hard this weekend to take home a win here in our home state, and so far, we've had the consistent numbers to prove we've got what it takes to get that done," he said.
 
Hernandez said his focus was split today as funeral services were held in Shandon, Ohio for fallen friend and driver Steve Engel.
 
"It was a tough day today, because all of us as drivers and racers were thinking of Tonya [Engel] and the boys, sending our thoughts and prayers to them as we went through the day. We'll all work our way to find some peace in this loss, but for now, it's still very raw," he said.
