VIDEO REWIND - WHEELS OF FIRE

The great thing about drag racing in the 1970s  was an abundance of
drag racing related movies that catered to the hardcore drag race fans
while conveying the excitement of the sport to the novice fan.

Wheels of Fire is a 1970s drag racing movie that has a mix of
fact, fiction and excellent camera work that entertains its audience
with big names of the sport like "Big Daddy" Don Garlits, Shirley
Muldowney, Don Prudhomme, Billy Meyer and Richard Tharp.

VIDEO REWIND - SHERIFF LOBO & DRAG RACING

The Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo was an American action/adventure
sitcom that ran on NBC from 1979 to 1981. For its second season the
show was renamed Lobo. The program aired Tuesday nights, at 8 p.m.
Eastern time. The lead character, Sheriff Elroy P. Lobo, played by
Claude Akins, was a spin-off character from another television series,
B.J. and the Bear.

CLASSIC PRO STOCK VIDEO

Travel back to drag racing's formative years when Pro Stocker were
really the factory hot rods. This YouTube video features the legendary
Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins discussing this golden years of the Pro Stock
division. Classic video footage includes Ronnie Sox, "Dyno" Don

Before there were Chevrolet Pro Stock standouts such as Jeg Coughlin
Jr. and Dave Connolly, there was Lee Shepherd. The former NHRA Modified
eliminator standout was the bridge that brought Chevrolet back to the
forefront of Pro Stock. He followed in the path started in the 1970s by
the legendary Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins and with the guidance of the
legendary Reher & Morrison duo, he scored the first Chevrolet NHRA
Pro Stock world championship in five years when he claimed the 1981
crown.

Shepherd won four consecutive NHRA Pro Stock crowns as well as two IHRA titles simultaneously. 

An accident claimed the life of Shepherd in 1985.
