FEEDBACK FRIDAY - DRIVERS REACT TO DIVING MEMO

FEEDBACK ARTICLE - DRIVERS REACT TO DIVING MEMO

Baze...If it's not a team sport, get ready to grab a wrench. If you were my shoe, and you can't follow instructions -- You'd better get a wrench!

Drag racing is a business. The dollar rules!

Maybe if we had a few more 10 or 12-car Top Fuel fields or 8 or 9-car Funny fields. - Gene Biswell, Sparks, Nevada

I think Graham Light showed once again how ignorant he is about drag racing and what is really going on out on the track.  This guy, along with the other head honchos at NHRA should take their millions and get the heck out of our way!  To think that this is an enforceable rule is really making more of a mockery out of drag racing than the diving is.  The drivers and owners are gonna hafta take a lie detector test and PASS just to get the win.

Frankly, if you want real heads up racing and a real champion at the end of the year, deal out points for qualifying for the race and for 1st place at the end of the day.  You'll see people who sandbag their way through a season just to get into the "Great Eight" or the "Final Four" (ala NASCAR), run it out the back door for a change and make winning the race an ALMOST honest ordeal again, like it should be.  With all the multi-car teams around, the diving's not gonna end, especially if the BOSS is in need of a few points to get to the top!  If you're not at the track to rip your competitor's guts out and win, you should be drivin' a roundy-round car and not in this sport. - Scott Heinrichs, Fife, WA

Where do you find "Sportsmanship" in team orders? Fans are well aware when teammates are in the same pair; the best leaver of the two all of a sudden falls asleep at the line, or smokes the tires 100 feet out?  Bad vibes surface about the team, and rightfully so.  Baze, Head and all the rest who firmly believe in no diving THANKS for being true and honest competitors. - M Blazek, Kasson, MN

BULL. Absolutely no way to enforce it.

Graham Light is trying to be the man. Dumb Just Dumb. - Bill Mason, Wilson, NC.
