This special ignition control features the first style logo that was used on the original MSD 2 ignition (a stamped housing and anodized in gold). These were our first multiple sparking, capacitive discharge ignition controls that were just getting started in the performance and racing market. It wasn’t long before racers such as Bob Glidden gave them a shot on the track and kicked off MSD’s climb to the number one ignition manufacturer! A few years later, the ignition was updated with the red cast aluminum housing that we’re all familiar with. This is where the 6A, 6AL and the entire 6-Series line sprouted from.

The Anniversary Ignition Control features the same proven components and power of the 6AL Ignition along with the engine saving Soft Touch rev control. There are only 4,000 of these ignitions being built and when they’re gone, they are gone! Each unit is serialized and is supplied with a classic MSD decal, free t-shirt offer and best of all, a limited lifetime warranty!

The 40th Ignition Control can be used on 4, 6 or 8-cylinder ignitions and connects to most distributors. Vibration mounts and 3,000, 6,000, 7,000 and 8,000 rpm modules are supplied.
