In an effort to enhance its status as the premiere Sportsman event of the year, organizers of the 25th annual JEGS Allstars race will randomly select two lucky racers to carry ESPN2 in-car cameras for as long as they survive in the event, slated for June 5-7 at Route 66 Raceway near Chicago.

The blind drawing for the winners of this special privilege will take place Friday evening during the special bar-be-que dinner for the 64 JEGS Allstar participants, which will be held in the hospitality village.

"It's no secret how the Coughlin family feels about Sportsman racers and this is just a little something extra we wanted to do to make them feel special," said Scott Woodruff, JEGS director of media and motorsports. "The fact this is the silver anniversary of the event makes this even better.

"This promotion will let two Sportsman drivers feel what it's like to get the kind of coverage the top professionals get each weekend on ESPN2, only we're picking up the tab. Hopefully, we'll be someone's lucky charm and they'll take their camera all the way to the winner's circle. It's just another way for us to say thank you to our loyal customers."

The JEGS Allstars race features the top points earners from the NHRA's seven geographic divisions competing against each other for big money and divisional bragging rights. Racers compete in Top Alcohol Dragster, Top Alcohol Funny Car, Comp, Super Stock, Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas, and Super Street.

Drivers earn JEGS Allstars points by competing at Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series events held within their home divisions. Defending JEGS Allstars champions in each category are automatically placed in the field as blockers.
