CARPENTER NAMES NEW MAJOR ASSOCIATE SPONSOR

His 2009 season headed in the wrong direction after a disastrous start at the ADRL’s Safety-Kleen Dragpalooza V in Houston, but Charles Carpenter’s year is beginning to turn around thanks to support at nearly every turn from fans, friends, and manufacturers.

One source of that support is MagnaFuel, manufacturer of high-performance fuel systems for a wide range of racing applications. Carpenter has been utilizing their ProStar 500 fuel pump and other components for the past several seasons, and MagnaFuel has stepped up to become a major associate sponsor of Charles Carpenter Racing and Carpenter’s iconic ’55 Chevy.

“MagnaFuel is a growing company, and we couldn’t think of a better way to supplement that growth than getting involved with a legend like Charles,” said MagnaFuel general manager Robbie Ward. “He has been doing this forever, and with great success. He knows his way around these engines and the fuel systems in particular, and we look forward to watching his continued success as he works his way back onto the track.”

“This is something Robbie and I have been working on for some time,” said Carpenter. “The added downtime I’ve had with the wreck and subsequent injury gave us a little extra time to sit down and work a deal out, and I couldn’t be happier to have founder and CEO Robert McAden, Robbie, and everyone at MagnaFuel on board with us when we return to competition at the ADRL Pizza Hut Summer Drags in Martin, MI.”

Carpenter and Ward first met when Carpenter was tuning Steve Paulauskis, Kelly Bluebaugh, and the rest of WFO Racing to their first PSCA Pro Street championship several years ago. Ward, a close friend of Bluebaugh’s, stayed in touch with Carpenter as the Pro Nitrous pioneer began to run their line of products.

“It’s great to build a relationship with a manufacturer, but to have a company like MagnaFuel step up to the plate with this kind of support right when we need it the most is   an awesome deal,” Carpenter concluded. “Their fuel system products are second-to-none, and I look forward to representing them to the best of my abilities for the remainder of 2009 and beyond.”
