BROGDON TEAMS WITH NATIONAL GUARD IN TOPEKA

Coming off the best showing yet for the new Charter Communication Pro Stock team in Bristol Tennessee, Rodger Brogdon and crew brogdon_profile.jpgwill be flying the colors of the National Guard during the running of the 2009 NHRA O’Reilly Summer Nationals at Heartland Park Topeka this weekend.

As the NHRA Full Throttle tour closes out the first third of its season, Brogdon looks to this weekend’s event to continue the momentum the team has been building over the last few races and knows that having the National Guard on board will add even more incentive to everyone on the team to win one for those that serve and protect our country.

As the NHRA Full Throttle tour closes out the first third of its season, Brogdon looks to this weekend’s event to continue the momentum the team has been building over the last few races and knows that having the National Guard on board will add even more incentive to everyone on the team to win one for those that serve and protect our country.

“We’ve been running well the past few events,” said Brogdon, “and we know after the race in Bristol that we are headed the right direction. Tommy Utt, Dr. Phil, and Jerry Eckman have been working non-stop to get us to this point. Having the National Guard join us for this weekend’s race just makes our efforts that much more special. With this race coming on the heels of Memorial Day, when we all recognize the sacrifices that the armed forces make for all of us, supporting the National Guard in this manner is the least this team can do.”

“The Guard’s motto is “Always Ready, Always There” and for all the members of the National Guard doing battle for us this weekend in Iraq and Afghanistan, we’re going to try and match their efforts on our battle ground, the quarter mile at Topeka," Brogdon continued. "Just as it takes teamwork on the battle field, it takes teamwork on the track, and I firmly believe that our team has just as much fire power as any other team out here, it’s just a matter of making sure that we correctly target out objective and take the trophy on Sunday for all the members of the Guard.”

The O’Reilly Summer Nationals at Heartland Park Topeka will be race number nine of the 24 event NHRA Full Throttle season, and begins a three race in a row schedule that will test the stamina and endurance of every team on the tour. For Rodger Brogdon, Charter Communication and the National Guard, it’s time to bring out the heavy artillery, this battle is going to be tough.
