ANDERSON, LINE ON SPEED TV'S PASS TIME

Under normal circumstances, whenever NHRA Pro Stock standouts Greg Anderson and Jason Line are at a dragstrip, they can be found pt1.jpgbehind the wheel of their powerful Summit Racing Equipment Pontiacs or working on ways to make them better.  However, this past Wednesday at zMax Dragway in Charlotte, the KB Racing teammates tackled a completely new form of competition, taking part in the taping of Speed’s highly popular drag-racing-themed game show, Pass Time.

Hosted by noted TV personality Brett Wagner, Pass Time pits two contestants against the show’s resident expert, Ken Herring, in a winner-take-all format as they try to predict what a wide variety of cars will run down the quarter-mile. Anderson and Line were selected as part of a special Racers’ Week edition taped in the Charlotte area in the week leading up to the Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR race. Although the results will not be made public until the show airs later this summer, as the sole representatives of NHRA’s Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, both racers made a good accounting of themselves and had fun.

“I actually went into the show with low expectations because I only know Pro Stock, unlike Jason and Ken, the resident expert on Pass Time, who have had plenty of experience with street and bracket racing,” said Anderson after the taping. “I was actually hoping to just not embarrass myself, but everything actually worked out okay. In fact, I’d love to do it again sometime. I hope the fans tune in when the show comes out later this summer because we had an absolute blast doing it.”

“My cheeks are actually hurting because I haven’t smiled that much in a long time,” added Line. “I think the fans will get a kick out of the show and hopefully enjoy it as much as we did. It was a very cool experience, with everyone at Speed and Pass Time treating us really well. I really want to thank everyone involved and can’t wait until the show airs.”
