Andy Robinson dominated Pro Mod like last months FIA European Main Event, he blistered the track again in the MSA British Drag Racing Championship round three with a 6.147/225 pole then beat defending Champion, Bert Englefield in round two after a round one bye. The final saw Robinson win with a 6.156/230 as Graham Ellis ran a slowing 6.752/217 for second.

The National Fuel Altered Association held its third round of the year with a combination of methanol and nitro burning Topolino’s. It was the good looking alcohol burning BB/FA of Frank Bennett that got the end of event trophy, a 6.571/196 beat Dave Grabham’s 7.172/178.

It was Belinda Bull in her Super Mod Chevy S10 truck that made her way past Simon Farmer and Tim Mugridge to face the leaping ’62 Corvette of Nigel Payne. The final had her catch and pass Payne’s holeshot and post a 7.582/179 win to the losing 7.681/180 try.

Paul Letchford took the Super Comp honours in his Camaro with wins over Pete Creswell, Steve Wells and a bye to the final. Frank Mason got the better of Collin Morrice, Dave Day and Brian Pateman to face Letchford. An inopportune moment for Mason to break left Letchford to solo to a breakout 8.870/157 win.

Stuart Morrice did well in Super Gas getting past many a heavy hitter, Pete Creswell in one, Dave Day in two and a bye to the final to come up against Frank Mason who had wins over Stuart Doignie, Jon Evans and Conrad Stanley. Mason left before the tree handing Morrice a 10.90/147 win.

In the Super Pro ET category John Everitt made it two wins in a row taking his Alien altered to a neat 7.929/164 win as opponent Jack Brewster in his Just Mustard Firebird failed to catch and pass with an 8.644/151 for runner up.

Roy Walker debuted his stunning looking vintage Ford Cortina last month and racked up his first win in Pro ET with a 10.581/125 defeat of Mick Howling driving the PMR Vega pick up whose 10.759/120 was not quite enough.

Top Fuel Bike trophy went once more to multi-time winner Steve Woollatt his round one bye got him to face Holland’s Rene van den Berg in the final. Not quite on his usual form van den Berg tried and even a holeshot 7.157/199 was no match as Woollatt sped past for a 6.484/210 victory.

In the Funny Bike class the win went to Kev Charman who had earlier taken out Dave Holland in two after a bye in one. Champion Chris Hall made his way past Tim Blakemore and a round two bye but stalled on the money run leaving Charman to solo to a 7.384/178 win.

Dave Beck performed his usual magic in Pro Stock Bike getting back to winning ways ousting Paul King in the semis then facing old rival Len Paget in the final. Paget pulled a rare red light and slowed accordingly as Beck stormed to a 7.299/179 win.

In Comp Bike, defending Champion Ivan Birch ruled the roost with top qualifier and wins over Nick Daniels and Phil Leamon to come up against Dave Peters. Peters had seen off Sandra Chaplain and Phil Crossley and in the final left first but was reeled in as Birch ran the winning 7.539/174 to an 8.479/129.

Super Street Bike was a full eliminator and Steve Venables dominated with a pole position and wins over Richard Hann, Brad O’Connor before getting the better of US visitor Walter Sprout who stalled on the leave. Richard Stubbins holeshot Venables but was passed with a 7.466/185 to a losing 7.648/188.
