NIGHT OF FIRE RETURNS TO BENEFIT 10-YEAR OLD OREGON GIRL

One of Salem, Oregon’s hottest summer events returns Friday Night, August 21 as the 10th annual Night of Fire Benefit Car Show daisyblanket.jpgwill light up the sky. The main feature of this years’ event will be a jet car fire show as the War Hawk funny car throws out a spectacular 30 foot-long flame.

This year’s Night of Fire benefits 10-year old Daisy Keiffer of Salem who is battling Ewing’s Sarcoma, an aggressive form of cancer. The general public can help Daisy by attending this family event that includes dragster fire-ups by the Capitol Auto Group racing team, hot rods, street rods, customs, low riders, muscle cars along with some antique vehicles.

This year’s Night of Fire benefits 10-year old Daisy Keiffer of Salem who is battling Ewing’s Sarcoma, an aggressive form of cancer. The general public can help Daisy by attending this family event that includes dragster fire-ups by the Capitol Auto Group racing team, hot rods, street rods, customs, low riders, muscle cars along with some antique vehicles.

There will be an auction and raffle items provided by some of the biggest named racing teams on the NHRA Tour. Motorsports items have been collected especially for this event from throughout the country as the sport of drag racing reaches out in support of Daisy. In addition, there will be vendors, kid activities, inflatables, raffles conducted and food booths including Adam’s Rib Smokehouse.

Admission is free for spectators. Exhibitors wishing to display their vehicles can do so. The cost is only $10.00 which includes a raffle ticket and a dash plaque or $20.00 which includes a tee shirt, dash plaque and five raffle tickets.

Since its’ inception in the year 2000, the annual Night of Fire in Salem has raised over $70,000. that benefited families with children that either have cancer or other serious illnesses.

Gates open at 2:00pm and the exciting jet car fire-up concludes the show just before 10:00pm. After relocating several times because of the audience size this years’ event is located in the Salem Evangelical Church Event Center parking lot on Liberty across from Applebee’s near the Parkway.
