NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle racer Peggy Llewellyn, the first black woman to win a professional motorsports event (the 2007 O’Reilly Super Start Batteries NHRA Fall Nationals presented by Castrol Syntec), has inked a one-year helmet sponsorship deal with Akuma Helmets, a leader in technologically advanced motorcycle helmets.

“I am excited about the sponsorship with Akuma Helmets for a couple of reasons,” said Llewellyn. “One, they are San Antonio-based, and secondly, they are extremely dedicated to high standards for safety, which is most important. I am truly excited to race wearing an Akuma helmet.”

The helmet sponsorship will take Llewellyn through her comeback in September for the remainder of the year and half of the 2010 season.
