Staff Photo Director Roger Richards achieved a performance milestone with his battle-hardened Chevrolet Astro Van recently in Bristol, Tenn.

 

Just a few months after he joined the staff of Torco's CompetitionPlus.com in the latter part of 1999, staff photo director Roger Richards took delivery of a slightly used Chevrolet Astro van. He most recently reached a performance milestone of 300,000.

 

The familiar van has criss-crossed the country in search of the perfect photo from Texas to Minnesota to Michigan and then some areas not even on the map. The momentous occaision transpired while cruising the Christmas lights at Bristol Motor Speedway.

"Knowing the milestone was near, I was able to time the momentous occasion to occur as I drove down the right lane on the Bristol Dragway while viewing their annual Christmas lights show at the track," Richards said. "So, actually, the odometer should read 300,000 miles 1320 feet. Now is that cool or what?"
