NHRA RE-RELEASES DRAG RACING '86 ON DVD
The NHRA has released another DVD in their line of forthcoming classic Diamond P drag racing footage.
NHRA Drag Racing '86 chronicles a year packed with mind-boggling innovation and mind-bending performance. “Big Daddy” Don Garlits led the way in both categories when he unveiled the most inventive dragster since his rear-engine machine of 1971. Funny Car was dominated by Kenny Bernstein who was the “King” for the second straight year and became the first flopper driver in the 5.4 second zone. Bob Glidden was once more the pacesetter in Pro Stock, winning his then unprecedented seventh NHRA World Championship. Glidden also became the first Pro Stock driver in the 7.3-second zone, while Warren Johnson tried to steal his thunder by running for the first time over 190 mph.
