WALKER SEEKS CONTINUED SUCCESS IN PSCA PRO STREET

With just two races remaining in the Pacific Street Car Association’s 2009 season, Randy Walker is walker_vegas_10_09_Lrolling into Las Vegas with just one thing on his mind: maintaining his stranglehold on the Hughes Performance Pro Street points standings.

After dominating the category all season, Walker enters the PSCA Mickey Thompson Tires Fall Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway with a 270-point lead over second place Tim Henry. The lead is nearly insurmountable, but Walker and crew have no plans to ease into the end of the season.

“The car is running better and better each time we take it out,” Walker said. “Cooler temperatures are on the way, but they’re not here yet. It’s still going to be hot in Vegas this weekend, but we think we can continue to improve our performance with each race and really turn it on when the conditions will allow it. We’re focused on winning this race and keeping our points lead, but this is also a great warm up for the Street Car Super Nationals coming up in about a month.”

Though the PSCA points season officially ends after the next race in Fontana, CA, there is one more race that everyone in the Pro Street world has circled on their calendars, and that’s the Super Nationals.

“We’re taking each race, and even each round, one at a time, but we can’t help but look ahead to the Super Nationals,” said the custom hot rod builder from Palm Desert, CA. “We’ve already locked up one championship this season and are gunning for that second one, and to cap off the whole year with a win at the Super Nationals would be indescribable. The best part is that the team we’ve put together gives me confidence that we can do it.”
