Winters Racing has contracted with Andy McCoy Race Cars (AMRC) to build a new ’69 Chevelle for the 2015 season.

“We started talking with Andy a few months back.  We were very impressed with his craftsmanship and dedication to safety.  And the ’69 Chevelle body he designed is really an amazing and aerodynamic piece.  Given what we’ve had in the past, we’re looking forward to having a car that isn’t aerodynamically challenged.  Our ’57 Chevy is a great crowd pleaser, but a disadvantage in quarter-mile racing.”

The ’69 Chevelle will be wrapped in Meritor colors and should be on the track testing in February.

“We know we have a long way to go to be ready for the first NHRA Pro Mod race at the Gator Nationals in early March.  But we plan on doing a lot of testing prior to that.  We want to come out at the Gators with a car capable of winning.”

Along with Meritor, Winters Racing will once again be teaming with Truck Supply Company of South Carolina to focus on marketing and business avenues related to commercial trucking service industry.

Doug and Winters Racing will particpate and compete at NHRA Pro Modified and PDRA events across the United States in 2014.  The season gets started March 12th at Gainesville Florida with the NHRA Gatornationals.
