NEXT CRAZE? 100-FOOT DRAGS

It’s the latest craze on the outskirts of drag racing’s radar screen. Various car enthusiasts are lining up for the 100-foot drags.

On Sunday, September 16, 2007, the small town of Waterford, Ct. will stage an event featuring their traditional Pro Street class as well as a trophy division. From what we are hearing, this will expand to include sport compact entries this year.

One of our readers from the Northwest says this practice is common in his area. According to Shawn, every year in a little town in Washington State conducts 100ft. drag races. It's a one lane event that's run right in the middle of town. A regular timing system and Christmas tree is used. Each year it grows and cars are faster and faster.
