BLACK TO RUN TRIBUTE ALL YEAR
Using the largest and most prestigious race on the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing
Series as a backdrop, Hillary Will’s KB Racing LLC-owned, Kalitta
Motorsports-managed Top Fuel dragster will debut its new paint scheme at the 53rd
annual NHRA Mac Tools U.S. Nationals. What began as a one-race deal will now extend to the balance of the 2007 season.
KB Racing owner, Ken Black, and
Torco’s owner, Evan Knoll, have joined forces for the Labor Day weekend event
that has Will’s dragster carrying an unique paint scheme, from graphic artist
Greg Ozubko and the graphic design studio of GOS Motorsports, with a special
message that urges all to “Support Our Troops And Their Families.”
Brian Olson, whose dad served in three wars, will apply the paint scheme from his Olson's Paint and Body Shop.
"I'm
glad that Evan Knoll and my team owner, Ken Black, decided to come together and
have a “Support Our Troops And Their Families” paint scheme on our Top Fuel
dragster,” Will said. “It's an honor for me to drive it. I'm very thankful for
what our U.S. troops do for our country. Hopefully I can dedicate a win to them
after we put our KB Racing dragster in the winner's circle at
Indy."
Black and Knoll say that the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals is the
perfect time to convey such a message.
Knoll already sponsors the
dragster of Melanie Troxel, fielded by Lucas Oil Racing, which honors the War
Veterans and the National League of POW-MIA families. Knoll says that he is
joining Black in this program, which supports today’s military and their
families, because Black is the perfect man to partner with in this endeavor.
