"I'm so lucky that SkillsUSA executive director Tim Lawrence thought of me to listen to Eric Chester's phenomenal presentation," Johnson said. "Since 1990 I have spoken to thousands of students at schools and NHRA events. One of my messages is talking about the tremendous rewards of a technical career. So whether you are racing or repairing cars, boats, airplanes, or motorcycles, it's all so high tech these days and education is the key to success.

"Drag racing is a great platform to highlight higher education and since WyoTech is the official technical school for the NHRA it's a perfect tie-in. Eric has drag racing in the family so after the seminar he gave me some extra direction to hone my message along with a copy of his award winning book on Generation Why."
