For the second time in as many events, Rockingham Dragway has played host to the quickest nitrous Pro Modified run in drag racing history.

Pat Stoken established himself as the quickest nitrous Pro Modified racer on the planet courtesy of his Saturday-evening 6.066 elapsed time during the final round of qualifying at the IHRA Spring Nationals in Rockingham, NC. The previous quickest mark was a 6.07 by Jim Halsey.

Stoken's car is powered by a 799-inch cubic-inch powerplant from Reher-Morrison Racing Engines and pumped full of Speedtech nitrous oxide. A quick call to Reher-Morrison revealed the engine, without nitrous produces 1200 foot pounds of torque and 1585 horsepower. With the nitrous spray, the power level elevates upwards to the 2500 HP range.
