Based in Florida since 1953, Crane was founded by hot rodder and machinist Harvey Crane, with an emphasis on quality and reliability.

By 1960 Crane was producing products for a host of drag racing applications. Drag racing legend Pete Robinson won the 1961 NHRA Nationals in a Crane-equipped dragster, and soon the little shop in Florida began expanding.

The company, producing cams and related parts for a wide variety of race and street applications, grew to its present size, with a 160,000 square foot facility at Daytona Beach. Along with building OEM and private label equipment, Crane supplies automotive electronic components, and parts for the motorcycle, marine, and aviation industry.

The recipient of the first Crane Cams - Event Winner Contingency Award will be decided as the PMRA gets under way May 17-18 for the Third Annual Victoria Day Weekend - PMRA Challenge at Toronto Motorsports Park in Cayuga, Ontario.
