NHRA CLARIFIES SPONSOR GRANDFATHER RULE

With the recent announcement and the change over of the national event series name from NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series to the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, there are some new provisions that all national event participants need to be aware of. , No energy sponsors will be allowed unless they were existing as of April 24, 2008, and fall under the "Grandfather Clause." The current provisions regarding isotonic/sports drink sponsors, including Gatorade, remain the same and will not be allowed under any circumstance in 2008. , For 2009, isotonic/sports drink sponsors will be allowed for pro classes, and only at primary level (at least 20 races for car sponsorships, and 14 races for Pro Stock Motorcycle). In 2010, Gatorade and isotonic/sports drink sponsors will be allowed at any level of team sponsorship.
