SCHUMACHER FINE UPHELD

The NHRA Review Panel completed their review regarding action taken against Don Schumacher based on an incident occurring during the Las Vegas national event in April, 2008.

The Panel upheld the finding that Don Schumacher Racing violated NHRA rules regarding nitromethane as well as Section 1.3.1 of the NHRA Rulebook regarding participant conduct.  The panel, reportedly comprised of NHRA employees, upheld the original fine.

The $100,000 dollar fine levied on Don Schumacher Racing stemmed from possessing from an unapproved supplier.  In 2004, the NHRA limited VP Race Fuels to supplying nitromethane distributed by Dow/Angus and Wego Chemical Companies. That limit was removed prior to the start of the 2008 season.

Don Schumacher Racing has filed a Final Appeal as outlined in Section 1.8.7 of the NHRA Rulebook.
