Chris Rivas has quickly learned that riding for the G2 Motorsports team, which is sponsored by aftermarket V-twin giants Drag Specialties and S&S Cycle has more than its fair share of perks.

Rivas has experienced one of those perks in visiting this weeks Sturgis Motorcycle rally  in Sturgis, S.D. He’ll be mingling with the thousands of riders at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally for the first time Monday and Tuesday, but he won’t be riding his motorcycle.

Rivas has experienced one of those perks in visiting this weeks Sturgis Motorcycle rally  in Sturgis, S.D. He’ll be mingling with the thousands of riders at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally for the first time Monday and Tuesday, but he won’t be riding his motorcycle.

Rivas flew in earlier this week to sign autographs at the Top 50 Rally Park and visit with riders and fans who are coming to this famous motorcycle city from all over the United States.

“I did’t know what to expect because I haven’t been there before,” said Rivas, of Fresno, Calif.  “At least I got to experience it once in my life . . . so here I go. I will be hanging out at the Drag Specialties display trailer where people will be able to see a lot of their products. I’m not just a rider; I have a shop and sell Drag Specialties parts.  I can interact with the people and talk about the products.”

The G2 Motorsports Drag Specialties team will be in Sturgis before leaving on Wednesday for Brainerd, Minn., site of NHRA’s Lucas Oil Nationals at Brainerd International Raceway, Aug. 8-10.
