DANIEL REED NAMED TD DRIVER FOR STEVENS

The Brett Stevens Racing team have announced that they have come to an agreement with former National Supercharged 
Outlaws Champion Daniel Reed to drive the team’s Makita Top Doorslammer in the ANDRA Championship Drag Racing series.
The son of high profile husband and wife Top Alcohol racers Steven and Debbie Reed of the Reed Racing team, Daniel, 27, is a highly successful racer in his own right winning the Willowbank Raceway Supercharged Outlaws Track Championship in 2004, 2005 and 2007, in addition to taking out the 2007 National crown. The Brett Stevens Racing team have announced that they have come to an agreement with former National SuperchargedOutlaws Champion Daniel Reed to drive the team’s Makita Top Doorslammer in the ANDRA Championship Drag Racing series.
The son of high profile husband and wife Top Alcohol racers Steven and Debbie Reed of the Reed Racing team, Daniel, 27, is a highly successful racer in his own right winning the Willowbank Raceway Supercharged Outlaws Track Championship in 2004, 2005 and 2007, in addition to taking out the 2007 National crown.
Team boss Brett Stevens believes he is the ideal candidate for the position as he already holds an ANDRA Group One licence for both a Top Alcohol Funny Car and Top Alcohol Dragster and should have no problem making the adjustments to a Top Doorslammer.
“I am extremely pleased to announce that Daniel Reed will be filling the driver’s seat in the Makita Top Doorslammer and think he will be a great fit for the team.”
“There is no doubting his driving abilities, he comes from one of the most respected teams in Australian Drag Racing and has risen through the ranks of the sport to be a National Champion in the sportsman brackets.”
“I have known him for a very long time and am very confident he will be causing headaches for the competition as soon as he hits the track in the professional ranks with my team.”
“We will be out testing over the next couple of weeks to get him familiar with the Makita Doorslammer before racing in Perth in November for the next round of the Championship.”
An Auto Electrician by trade, Daniel works full time as an engine builder for the highly successful Triple 8 V8 Supercar team and will continue with these commitments, assisting the Brett Stevens Racing and driving on race weekends only.
The next round of the ANDRA Top Doorslammer Championship Drag Racing series will be the Goldenstates at the Perth Motorplex from the 14th–15th November.
