Trans-Dapt Performance Products of Whittier, California is celebrating it’s 50th anniversary. Founded in 1959, the company and it's owner, Willie Garner, were a major force behind the formation of the Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association, better known as SEMA. Bob Vandergriff Jr. commemorated this historic event by running a special 50th Anniversary Trans-Dapt Logo on his UPS sponsored dragster at the the AC Delco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals, and will continue the salute at the season finale Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals in Pomona, CA..

Over the years, TransDapt has been a contributor to our racing program, and the ability to honor one of my father's companies at this event is a great highlight." Bob Vandergriff Senior purchased the company in 1991.

Bob Vandergriff Sr. once served as the advertising and marketing director for the NHRA . Upon leaving the NHRA, he created an award-winning advertising agency, which went on to win awards for excellence in the line of duty.

With a number of 30-year plus staff members, the Vandergriff family feels that the tremendous loyalty of it’s employees is responsible for the quality product and service Trans-Dapt has been able to provide over the last half-century. Since it’s very start, Trans-Dapt has supported all major forms of motorsports competition, but drag racing has always held special status as the first love for the Vandergriff family. These ties to racing have also played a large role in Trans-Dapt's long-term success.

TransDapt will also commemorate its 50th anniversary throughout the 2008 SEMA Show in Las Vegas (Nov. 4-7, 2008) with the release of it’s 50th Anniversary Catalog, and limited release 50th Anniversary logo sticker.
