Kon Rodz Racing will expand in 2009 with the purchase of the two-car Alcohol Funny Car operation of Mark Thomas.
“This acquisition has rejuvenated and excited our Kon Rodz Team and I personally am extremely excited about our team's future for next year,” said team owner Spiro Kontos.
Joining current driver Jason McKnight will be past Top Dragster/Jr. Dragster racer Cassie "Pebbles" Simonton, who will drive one of the two cars.
Simonton, 22, has been racing for fourteen years, the last six of which have been in Top Dragster.
“Our team is highly motivated and energized for the upcoming season with the recent car purchases,” Kontos added. “Confidence levels are high and we know that this will materialize into a successful 2009 racing season. Kon Rodz Racing is a team to watch out for next year and we will be competing in the NHRA at select events.”
