The NMCA opens it 21st season at Bradenton Motorsports Park in Bradenton,Florida this weekend mark_micke.jpgwith the running of the 7th Annual Ross Racing Pistons NMCA Muscle Car Nationals, the first of seven races in the NMCA Edelbrock Drag Racing Series.

In the past, this event has been known for record-breaking performances as racers take advantage of great early spring weather and track conditions. The race also has been known as having some of the largest car counts of the year, especially in the Scorpion Performance Pro Street eliminator. Last year 20-drivers attempted to make the 16-car field, which ended up the
quickest and fastest field in the history of Pro Street. That race, marked the NMCA debut of Mark Micke, who won the event and then went on to win the season championship.

Bradenton fans also witnessed a win for Mickey Thompson Super Street 10.5W competitor and heads-up racing pioneer, Spiro Pappas, who also went on to win the season title. Both Micke and Pappas will be on hand to defend their championships this weekend. There will also be nine other
eliminators slugging it out along with Tremec True Street, one of the most popular classes in street legal drag racing.

Gate open Friday at noon with a test and tune scheduled from 1-5. Qualifying begins Saturday at 9:00 AM.
