HERBERT RUNS DRAGSTER AT PINKS ALL OUT

NHRA Driver Doug Herbert will make exhibition runs in his 300 mph Top Fuel dragster at zMAX Dragway this weekend as part of the activities surrounding SPEED’s “PINKS All Out”.  Herbert will be promoting B.R.A.K.E.S., the safe driving organization he founded that serves as the public service message for SPEED’s hit television show and will have a presence at the track throughout the two-day event.

“I think it’s awesome that SPEED has asked B.R.A.K.E.S. to be a part of their PINKS All Out show,” said Herbert.  “When PINKS visits a drag strip, a ton of fans come out for it and the show is very exciting for them.  I think that my team making a pass in our 300 mph Top Fuel car will just add to the excitement.”

The team, which hasn’t been competing on the NHRA circuit this year due to a lack of corporate sponsorship, will have the Top Fuel car on display both Friday and Saturday.  The exhibition pass will take place around dusk, before the 16-car field for “PINKS All Out” begins their eliminations.

Representatives of B.R.A.K.E.S. will maintain a display booth, giving them the opportunity to interact with fans and competitors in attendance to encourage the ‘Take it to the Track’ message.  The organization will also provide educational information about the dangers of street racing, specifically amongst young, inexperienced drivers.

“There have been a lot of recent incidents in the news about reckless street racing,” said Herbert.  “Competitors at PINKS All Out have the right idea; if you want to race you need to take it to the race track.  At the track there are safety crews and there aren’t other drivers in other cars that are being put in danger.”
