CompetitionPlus.com readers can win big, as six drag racing fans found out yesterday.

CompetitionPlus.com, a trusted source for drag racing news for the last two decades, rewarded six full subscriptions to the NHRA.tv live streaming service for the 2020 season.

Jimmy Essex, who has been a reader of CompetitionPlus.com for the last year, was the first winner selected out of 1300-plus entrants.

Essex, from Tucson, Az., because he was the first winner, also received a special edition Tom "The Mongoose" McEwen 1978 NHRA U.S. Nationals shirt from the RedLineShirtClub.com.

"It blew me away when I got the email," Essex admitted. "I thought, 'No way!"

"It's one of those things where you enter and never expect to win. I started reading CompetitionPlus.com when I would see features highlighted on social media. But ever since I did find it I find myself going back into the archives to read more and more. It's where you need to go to get the insider information."

Dan Richardson, who raced NHRA Super Gas for 14 years, has been reading CompetitionPlus.com, has been reading for almost as long as the internet magazine has been in existence.

"The timing is perfect as I was due to renew," Richardson said. "NHRAtv gets watched a lot in our house."

Other winners in the contest included Cindi Struck, Terry Thom, Rick Keil and Bruce Bailey.
