The Western Swing has been fun for Jim Dunn Racing as they are closing in on a spot to compete in this year’s NHRA Countdown to the Championship.  

This week at Pacific Raceways in the Seattle market, driver Jim Campbell will try to repeat his recent semifinal round at Denver with a goal to advance and win the finals.

The team annually looks forward to the Seattle race, home of its primary sponsor Oberto, and has new bold colors for the beef jerky brand on their nitro Funny Car.  

“It would mean the world for us to advance our standings and make NHRA’s Countdown to the Championship by winning this weekend’s race. We’ve won here before and nothing would make us happier than to give the folks at Oberto a winners circle experience,” said Jim Dunn Racing team manager, Jon Dunn.      

Jim Campbell currently sits only 8 points out of the final Funny Car spot in the Countdown to the Championship, with three races including Seattle to earn points to qualify for the Mello Yello Funny Car Championship.  Fans can follow the team on Facebook at @JimDunnRacing, and watch the Fox Sports broadcasts throughout the race weekend.
