TEXAS MOTORPLEX ADDS NEW SAFETY RESPONSE VEHICLE

After months of planning and great anticipation, the Texas Motorplex received their first delivery of new track equipment just in time for the 2019 season, the Texas Motorplex FireAde Safety Response Vehicle. The custom built vehicle, provided by Bruce Lowrie Chevrolet and sponsored by FireAde- the trusted product of choice for Race Safety Teams in all motorsports from NHRA, NASCAR and beyond, is completely furnished with all new equipment, including a battery operated hydraulic cutter and spreader, better known as the ‘jaws-of-life,’ saws, tools, and all rescue equipment needed in case of an on track incident.

The Texas Motorplex was the first all-concrete stadium style drag racing facility constructed and first ever NHRA “super track”. Visionary, Billy Meyer built the premier facility, changed the course of drag racing, and set the standard for which all other tracks have followed. Some of the fastest passes have been cemented in history at the Texas Motorplex. The facility hosts a number of racing and car show events between February and November each year and after all these years, is still a favorite of the fans and drivers for the all-concrete race surface, ideal weather conditions and dedicated employees who work to provide a safe environment to race.

“Over the past few months, we have been working hard to make a large investment in not only the safety at the track, but also in the track equipment here at Texas Motorplex. The Safety Response Vehicle is just the first of many pieces of equipment we are adding to our fleet,” General Manager, Andy Carter said. “We have also been working with Kirk Johnson of Total Venue Concepts on a truck load of new track prep equipment. This investment is not only for the future of Texas Motorplex, but for the safety of our racers and for the quality of the all-concrete ¼ mile racing surface. We have already set several street car world records here this winter, and I can’t wait to see how fast they can be with all the new stuff we have coming.”

Together with the new FireAde Vehicle, the official Texas Motorplex Certified Firefighters will also be fitted in new jackets and gloves provided by Stroud Safety, the technology leader in the safety industry. The efforts by Stroud have made racing much safer for the driver, car, track and spectator.

The Motorplex’s commitment to providing a safe and quality racing environment goes beyond just the purchase of the new FireAde Vehicle. The Motorplex has invested in additional new track equipment including; a Hook Master Track Rotator-sponsored by Smiley’s Racing Products and Hoosier Tire Southwest, a Tennant Track Sweeper-Scrubber, a Track Scraper, a VHT Spray Rig, and a 120-hp John Deere Tractor.

The 2019 Texas Motorplex schedule has been released and features the quickest and fastest, the loudest and proudest and the safest track in North Texas. Texas Motorplex will play host to the AAA Texas NHRA Fall Nationals October 17-20, Pro Mod Madness with Mid-West Pro Mod, The O’Reilly Outlaw Drag Racing Series, Street Legal Racing, The Lone Star Nationals and back by popular demand…The NHRA Division 4 Bracket Finals! Returning for the second year, Street Outlaws-No Prep Kings will be held October 25-26. The schedule also features Import Face-Off, the Lantern Fest, car shows and much more!
