Word has it that a popular Pro Modified racer has been going to school to test the waters of running Top Fuel. From what we hear, this racer has nitro blood in his veins. 

The rumor floating around is a 16,000-square foot Top Eliminator Club pavilion is in the works to get approved for construction at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis. A source said the hope is to break ground on the pavilion project within the next 30 days.

CompetitionPlus.com has learned not only will past champion Allen Johnson race Pro Stock in 2016, but will also do so for multiple seasons. In other words, we have heard his highly anticipated "deal" went through. An official announcement could come within a couple of weeks.

Sources indicate a fourth Top Fuel dragster from the Don Schummacher Racing camp is coming close to fruition. From what we hear, this dragster will be driven by a pilot new to the Big Show of the Mello Yello Drag Racing Series.

Langdon, from what we hear will be soon announced as the third dragster driver for DSR. Rumors abound regarding the landscape of 2016 and NHRA Pro Stock. While we are uncertain about what to expect in Pomona, we can tell you one part-time Pro Stock racer has already started the initial process of purchasing a fuel operation with the plan of headed nitro Funny Car racing.

Multiple sources have confirmed Todd Smith has been released from his position as crew chief of the Monster Energy Top Fuel car at John Force Racing. From what is floating around the rumor mill, we hear a top-shelf tuner could be headed that way. If this comes to pass, it will be the talk of the nitro community. 

Much has been speculated about the Gray Brothers and their plans to run Pro Stock in 2016. While Gray hasn't confirmed he will step aside in 2016, and wouldn't speak for brother Jonathan's plans, could Jonathan be headed for Pro Modified?

There's a major buzz in the nitro pits suggesting one of the racers this weekend at the NHRA Toyota Nationals will assume the color commentary position to be vacated by Mike Dunn for the 2016 transition over to Fox Sports.
