The Red Line Oil PDRA Drag Racing Series will resume its 2025 season this weekend at the Talbert Manufacturing Northern Nationals presented by Callies Performance. The fifth stop on the eight-race tour runs July 31–Aug. 2 at U.S. 131 Motorsports Park.

 

The event will feature the series’ top pro and sportsman classes competing in eighth-mile racing. Fans will also see exhibition runs from Top Fuel dragsters, nostalgia front-engine dragsters, Top Fuel Harleys, nitro Funny Cars, Fuel Altereds, jet cars, a jet truck and a wheelstanding fire truck.

 

“We’re coming off a bit of a break in the schedule, so everyone’s eager to get back to racing,” said PDRA series director Tyler Crossnoe. “The Northern Nationals at U.S. 131 Motorsports Park is always a highlight of the season.”

 

Johnny Camp tops the WS Construction Pro Boost standings with his ProCharged “Hells Bells” ’69 Camaro. Melanie Salemi, who defeated Camp to win the season opener, is 11 points behind, while two-time champion Jason Harris, the 2023 event winner, is third.


Michigan driver Jackie Slone returns as the defending event winner in Pro Nitrous after claiming his first victory at Martin in 2024. Franklin has been the No. 1 qualifier at the last two races in his Musi-powered “Jungle Rat 3.0” Camaro.

 

Amber Denton, a two-time Pro 632 world champion, leads Switzer Dynamics Pro Nitrous points in her Musi-powered “OG Jungle Rat” ’69 Camaro. She is followed by Marcus Butner, who earned his second career win earlier this season, and three-time champion Tommy Franklin, Denton’s father.

Blake Denton, husband of Amber Denton, leads Liberty’s Gears Pro Street in the Musi-powered “Bonnie” ’69 Camaro, formerly driven by the late Lizzy Musi. Defending champion Ethan Steding and two-time champion Tim Essick round out the top three.


Alan Drinkwater leads AED Competition Extreme Pro Stock after a win at the last race and a runner-up at the season opener. Jeremy Huffman is second after earning his first career win this season, while two-time champion Chris Powers sits third and is the defending event winner.


Jeff Melnick, the 2023 Pro 632 champion, took the victory at Maryland to retake the points lead. Walter Lannigan, winner of the season opener, is second, and Michigan’s Lexi Tanner is third heading into her home race.
Former Jr. Dragster racer Connor McGee leads PDRA Super Street after winning his second race of the season. Matt Schalow and Austin Vincent sit second and third in the standings.


Top points leaders in sportsman divisions include Bryan LaFlam in MagnaFuel Elite Top Sportsman, Kyle Harris in Laris Motorsports Insurance Elite Top Dragster, Jeff Talvacchio in MagnaFuel Top Sportsman and Nick Meloni in Laris Motorsports Insurance Top Dragster.


The Northern Nationals open Thursday with pre-race testing and qualifying for Top Sportsman and Top Dragster at 5 p.m. Jr. Dragster qualifying begins Friday at 8:30 a.m., with pro qualifying at noon, 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Final eliminations start Saturday around noon, with nitro shows at 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.
