For the first time in its 23 seasons of NHRA competition, Toyota has won the NHRA Manufacturers Cup. The inclusion of the Top Fuel category this year contributed to Toyota’s success, which includes significant achievements in both Top Fuel and Funny Car.
In 2024, Toyota recorded 16 victories across 20 NHRA events in the Top Fuel and Funny Car categories. The manufacturer had at least one entry reach the final round in every event, extending its presence to 43 consecutive races.
Toyota also secured its second consecutive Top Fuel driver’s championship this season, with Antron Brown claiming his eighth championship overall.
“The 2024 NHRA season has been storybook for Toyota,” said Paul Doleshal, Group Manager, motorsports, Toyota Motor North America. “None of this would’ve been possible without the incredible efforts of our partner teams, drivers, and our engineers at TRD.”
Toyota supports six teams in NHRA’s Top Fuel and Funny Car categories. This season’s successful drivers include Antron Brown with six wins, Justin Ashley with four, and Doug Kalitta with three, among others.
Since entering NHRA drag racing in 2002, Toyota has achieved eight Top Fuel and four Funny Car world championships. Notable Top Fuel champions include Antron Brown and Doug Kalitta, while Ron Capps and J.R. Todd are among the Funny Car champions.
