Australian drag racer Brett Stevens has been sentenced to 13 years in jail for producing and trafficking ecstasy.

Stevens, 50, was found guilty on both charges following a six-week trial held at Brisbane’s Supreme Court.

During trial testimony jurors heard that the racing veteran was the mastermind behind an operation that produced and distributed nearly 100,000 pills a week, earning 1.2 million dollars.

Stevens, who participated in Top Doorslammer, Top Fuel Motorcycle and Alcohol Funny Car, has three national drag racing titles to his name.
