CompetitionPlus.com has added a dedicated social media team to complement its veteran editorial staff, marking a significant step in the drag racing publication’s continued growth. Nicole Clark, a longtime industry professional with experience in manufacturing, public relations, social media, and broadcast journalism, will lead the team.

Additionally, CJ Jenkins was added as a social media reporter, while Josh Moss will serve as a social media photographer.

The announcement comes as the online magazine, founded by Bobby Bennett Jr. in 1999, celebrates its 25th year as an independent source for drag racing news. “Having Nicole, CJ, and Josh join our team is the equivalent of winning the lottery,” Bennett said. “They are three incredibly hard-working individuals who care deeply about the factual presentation of drag racing.”

Clark will oversee the publication’s social media strategy, bringing what she describes as a “behind-the-scenes” connection between the sport and its fans. “My passion for NHRA drag racing runs deep,” Clark said. “I’ve been going to the races with my family since I was born, and eventually made it my profession for several years.”

While Clark works full-time in television, she said she couldn’t stay away from the sport’s community. “Anyone who knows me knows I cannot sit still,” she said. “Working with Bobby and CompetitionPlus gives me a creative outlet to share my love for the sport with fans.”

Clark emphasized the importance of social media in keeping audiences engaged and informed. “It’s a place to give fans a look behind the scenes and make them feel like they’re at the races while at home,” she said. “It also helps give fans a chance to get to know their favorite drivers outside the car.”

Clark also expressed her gratitude for the opportunity. “I’m grateful to Bobby for letting me into his inner circle at CompetitionPlus,” she said. “He’s been successfully running CompetitionPlus for 25 years, and for him to put his trust in me is humbling. We have been making plans that will help grow his brand for years to come.”

Jenkins, a 17-year-old Junior Dragster racer and incoming senior at Beaufort County Early College High School in North Carolina. Jenkins, who has been racing for eight years, previously worked with CompetitionPlus as an intern on the editorial side.

“When I was presented with the opportunity to work at Competition Plus officially, I was overjoyed about it,” Jenkins said. “This is a big deal to me because Bobby Bennett has been one of my role models in the drag racing world, showing me how the media works, putting me in touch with certain drivers, and now offering me a job after working alongside him for several years.”

Jenkins plans to continue his driving career, graduating into Super Comp and eventually Top Dragster and Top Fuel, while lending his social media insight to CompetitionPlus.
Moss, an incoming sophomore at Carolina University, rounds out the new team. Moss grew up around NHRA drag racing and found his niche in photography. After working on a few events for the publication, Moss realized he wanted to be part of the team full-time.

“It feels great to be a part of this team,” Moss said. “I’m honored to be able to take my photography skills to help a powerhouse like CompetitionPlus in the drag racing world.”

Moss said the camaraderie and purpose of the team make his role especially meaningful. “When you roll into a race with this team, you feel a purpose, and with its broad readership, it just reaffirms the feeling,” he said. “This is more than just a role, it’s being part of a team. It’s a team built on the platform of winning.”

Bennett, a drag racing journalist with 45 years of experience, said the expansion reflects the changing nature of media and the sport. “Drag racing is a continually evolving sport, and to staff a team of social media specialists is paramount,” he said. “They understand the role they play in delivering drag racing news to our fans, who are deeply embedded in social media.”

Founded in September 1999, CompetitionPlus has grown into the longest-running independent drag racing publication on the internet. The addition of a social media team signals the organization’s continued commitment to providing timely and reliable coverage of the sport.

Bennett said Clark, Jenkins, and Moss bring the right combination of passion, expertise, and connection to drag racing culture. “They get it,” Bennett said. “And that’s exactly what CompetitionPlus needs as we move into the next chapter.”
