NHRA MAKES IT'S DEBUT AT FLYING H DRAGSTRIP; NEFF, PATTERSON AND FOWLER QUALIFY NO. 1

 


Flying H Dragstrip, the new facility located outside of Kansas City, MO., made its NHRA debut with the first of two Division 5 (West Central) events scheduled this weekend. With temperatures reaching into the 90s, the action on the strip was just as hot. 

The Rooftec Competition Eliminator Bonus made its first divisional debut outside of Division 4, and it was series regular Clinton Neff leading the 42-car lists with an elapsed time of 6.619, -.601 under the A/Econo Dragster standard. 

A pair of A/Nostalgia Dragsters were on his heels as Brian Wegner was -.585 under with a 6.935, followed by Kevin Carter, who was 6.877 under his 7.46 personal index. Series organizer Rodger Brogdon was fourth with a 7.318, -.552 under the B/Altered Planetary standard. 

Kayla Mozeris rounded out the top five with a 7.599, -0.541 under the K/Altered Automatic index.

Third-generation Super Stock racer Aydan Patterson was the top qualifier, running a 9.248, -0.952 under in Factory Super Stock/F trim.

Texan John Fowler was the top runner in Stock, turning in a 9.613, -0.987 under the Factory Stock/D index.

Other top qualifiers included Daria Vang in Top Dragster, running a 6.112, 230.49 and Darian Boesch, who ran a 6.340 to lead Top Sportsman.  

There are over 500 entries this weekend for the inaugural event.
